5. How it works |
Insert the cable into the plunger and slide the gripper to the desired position. Where it stops it locks. To re-adjust, simply depress the plunger with your fingertip and move the gripper to a new position. Release the plunger to lock. The 3-ball gripping mechanism is spring-loaded and allows the gripper to move freely up the cable. It cannot move down unless the plunger is depressed. While there is any weight at all on the gripper, the plunger cannot be depressed. An optional “safety nut” or “safety cap” can be added to completely lock the mechanism in both directions. The Greater The Weight, The Stronger It Grips. |

How to Install the Cable Grippers?
Except for the ceiling attachments, our cable grippers are all fitted in the same way and once installed,
the full load is attached to the holder and will no longer move.
The cable in the ceiling attachments is held in with a stop ferrule, in all theothers there are
ball bearings which grip the cable.
To installthe Grips, gently depress the spring-loaded plunger (the pipe sticking out of the cable holder)
and insert one end of the cable into it.
Some of the our grippers have a screw nut over the plunger. Where these are present, undo the screw
nut completely before depressing the plunger.
Thread the cable through the holder as required, but at least far enough to be able to
clearly see it protrude from the other end of the holder.
Release the plunger to attach the load. The cable is gripped by ball bearings inside the fitting.
Once the holder is in the desired position, if it has a safety-nut, screw it down as
far as possible by hand (do not use tools).
To adjust,simply reverse the procedure:completely unscrew the safety-nut ,
press the spring-loaded plunger with your finger.Move the holder up and down
the cable as required.Screw the nut back again.
